David Nuñez is cryptographer at NuCypher. He specializes in proxy re-encryption, which was the topic of his PhD. He is also the author of Umbral, the proxy re-encryption scheme that supports the decentralized NuCypher network, and one of the core maintainers of its reference implementation, pyUmbral. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at University of Malaga, Spain. He has been a speaker at numerous academic and industry conferences and has been featured on podcasts to talk about NuCypher and its products.
