Sudheesh is a Research Fellow with the Technology for Emerging Markets (TEM) group at Microsoft Research India currently pursuing research in the areas of Blockchain and Human Computer Interaction with Dr. Bill Thies, Dr. Colin Scott, Dr. Muthian Sivathanu and Dr. Satya Lokam. A strong advocate for open source software within Microsoft and outside, Sudheesh has been an active part of various open source communities like Mozilla, FOSSASIA, Python Software Foundation and Hyperledger. Sudheesh's contributions to open source software started in 2011 and continue till date. While the journey started as a curious learner it slowly evolved into becoming a serious contributor during the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2015,2016 as a student and then transitioned as a mentor for the students contributing to open source in GSoC 2017 and 2018.

Sudheesh is currently pursuing research goals around building blockchain systems that have a higher transaction throughput (performance and scaling), improving auditability in data feeds external to the blockchain (confidentiality, correctness) and efficient interledger communications.

Sudheesh has previously spoken and given various engaging talks at Microsoft (2017, 2018), FOSSASIA (2015,2016,2017) Google Developer Group Kuwait (2014) on various works related to big data & operations at scale, visualization and system design.
